With our proximity to a national forest, the risk of wildfire is real. For your safety, your household should prepare an evacuation plan now, before a fire threatens.
Santa Fe County's Evacuation Planning Guide is an excellent resource to help you get started. In the event of an evacuation, tune to the Emergency Communications Network station at 770 AM for specific directions on where to register for assistance.You can also access information online at nmfireinfo.com
In the case of an evacuation, the Fire Department or Sheriff's Department will drive up and down our streets with a loud alarm and an announcement to evacuate.

Getting prepared for emergency services and public announcements
1. Register with Smart 911. This is a comprehensive service that allows you to list members of the household, any special needs that need to be considered, whether you need help evacuating, and even allows you to pick what notifications you want to receive (weather, police, etc). There is also a phone app you can download called Smart911 -- it's green with a lock with an i in it.
2. Set your cell phone to receive emergency alerts. On a smartphone, under Settings - Notifications - At the bottom are alerts for Amber, Emergency, and Public Safety. Turn these on and your phone will sound loudly if there is any emergency evacuation or other emergency announcement.
3. Many televisions can be set to receive emergency alerts. Check your settings.
4. Get a Weather Service Alert Radio.
